Seagoville Dragons Football Trivia: Big Plays and Big Scores in the Modern Era

The Seagoville offense entered a new high-scoring era during the 2010s.

In 2013, the Dragons opened with a 61-7 victory over Fort Worth Western Hills. Datavian Bush returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, Anthony Alexander scored on a 57-yard fumble return and Traevon Payne rushed for 159 yards on only seven carries.

The scoring continued against district opponents. Seagoville defeated North Dallas 63-0 after racing to a 56-0 halftime lead. Payne rushed for 147 yards and four touchdowns in another 63-point performance against North Dallas later in the season covered by the book.

The 2014 team opened the year with seven consecutive victories. Corey Patulea rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns against Bryan Adams. JeQualon Wright scored four touchdowns in a 47-2 victory over Molina, while Isaiah Brown added two more.

Wright became one of the era’s most productive backs. In 2015, he rushed for 203 yards and three touchdowns against Spruce as the Dragons piled up 385 yards on the ground.

The running attack remained dangerous in 2016 and 2017. Isaiah Brown, Xzavier Phillips and JaCarr Lee combined for 338 yards and six touchdowns against Adamson in 2016. Lee later rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns in a 19-14 victory over Newman Smith.
