The countdown is on.
The Seagoville Dragons are getting ready for a 10-game football schedule packed with road challenges, home-field opportunities, and major Thursday night matchups that should give Dragon Nation plenty to talk about this season.
Seagoville opens the season on Thursday, August 28, at 7:30 p.m. with a road trip to Palestine. The Wildcats finished 1-9 last season, giving the Dragons an early opportunity to start fast and set the tone for the year.
The home opener arrives one week later, when Seagoville hosts Bryan Adams on Thursday, September 4, at 7:30 p.m. Adams finished 2-8 last season, and the matchup gives local fans their first chance to fill the stands, bring the noise, and support the Dragons under the lights.
The schedule quickly picks up intensity from there. Seagoville hosts Mesquite Poteet on Thursday, September 11, at 7:30 p.m. Poteet finished 3-7 last season and will provide another early measuring stick before the Dragons hit the road again.
On Thursday, September 18, Seagoville travels to face Adamson at 7:30 p.m. Adamson also finished 2-8 last season, making the road matchup an important opportunity for the Dragons to build momentum during the first half of the schedule.
The Dragons return home on Thursday, September 25, for a 7:30 p.m. matchup against Thomas Jefferson. Jefferson finished 1-9 last season, and the game gives Seagoville another chance to protect its home field before October begins.
The first major road test of October comes Thursday, October 2, when Seagoville travels to face Samuell at 7:30 p.m. Samuell finished 7-3 last season, making that matchup one of the tougher games on the schedule and a true test of where the Dragons stand.
One of the biggest dates of the season comes Thursday, October 8, when South Oak Cliff comes to town for a 7:15 p.m. kickoff. South Oak Cliff finished 15-1 last season and captured a state championship, giving Dragon Nation a marquee home game against one of the strongest programs on the schedule.
The closing stretch will continue to test Seagoville’s toughness. The Dragons travel to Hillcrest on Thursday, October 16, at 7:30 p.m. Hillcrest finished 6-5 last season, making it another important road challenge late in the year.
Seagoville returns home on Thursday, October 23, to face Woodrow Wilson at 7:30 p.m. Wilson finished 5-6 last season, and the matchup gives the Dragons one final home game before the regular-season finale.
The Dragons wrap up the regular season Thursday, October 30, with a 7:30 p.m. road game against Molina. Molina finished 0-10 last season, and Seagoville will look to close the schedule with a strong finish.
The 10-game schedule includes five home games and five road games. Home matchups are set against Bryan Adams, Mesquite Poteet, Thomas Jefferson, South Oak Cliff, and Woodrow Wilson. Road games will be played at Palestine, Adamson, Samuell, Hillcrest, and Molina.
Based on last season’s records, Seagoville will face a wide range of opponents — from rebuilding teams to playoff-caliber programs and a defending state champion. The Dragons’ opponents combined for a 42-72 record last season, led by South Oak Cliff’s 15-win championship campaign.
For Dragon Nation, the mission is simple: show up, be loud, and back the blue.
From the season opener in Palestine to the final regular-season road trip against Molina, every Thursday night will be another opportunity for Seagoville to build momentum, defend its pride, and give the community a reason to rally behind the Dragons.
