Dragons’ tennis playoff match was scheduled Tuesday morning; cross-country runners compete Wednesday at Wilmer-Hutchins.
SEAGOVILLE — Championship competition takes center stage for two Seagoville High School sports programs this week, with team tennis reaching the bi-district playoffs and cross-country runners preparing for their district championship meet.
Dallas ISD’s athletics announcements list Seagoville’s tennis playoff matchup for Tuesday morning at Mesquite High School. The Dragons’ cross-country district meet follows Wednesday, October 7, at Wilmer-Hutchins High School.
The events give Seagoville athletes opportunities to extend their fall seasons through UIL postseason competition.
Tennis Reaches Bi-District Round
Seagoville was scheduled to face the Mesquite Skeeters at 9 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, at Mesquite High School, according to the Dallas ISD bi-district championship graphic.
The Dragons’ inclusion in the announced playoff schedule marks a postseason berth for the team-tennis program.
The Tuesday morning start had already passed by publication time. A verified final score was not available, so Seagoville’s advancement status remains unconfirmed.
Cross Country Races Wednesday
Seagoville’s runners are scheduled to compete in the District 13-5A championships Wednesday, October 7, at Wilmer-Hutchins High School.
Dallas ISD’s announcement lists a 7:30 a.m. start for the district meet. That is the published meet start time; the graphic does not provide separate starting times for individual races.
UIL’s official 2026–27 cross-country alignment places Seagoville in District 13-5A alongside Adamson, Hillcrest, Thomas Jefferson, Molina, South Oak Cliff, Sunset, W.T. White and Woodrow Wilson.
Wednesday’s competition shifts the focus from invitational meets to district championship racing, with postseason qualification at stake.
