Seagoville High School is preparing to welcome students back for the 2026 to 2027 school year, and administrators are asking every Dragon to arrive with a great attitude, positive energy, and a commitment to making the year a success. School leaders shared a detailed first day guide to help families prepare together at home.
What to Bring on the First Day
Seagoville High School officials are asking families to keep the first day simple. Students should bring only a writing utensil and their Student ID, and they should arrive in dress code and on time.
Students should not bring a personal backpack or school supplies on the first day. Every student will receive a Dallas ISD provided backpack once they arrive at school.
Families are encouraged to review the 2026 to 2027 Dress Code before arrival. School officials note that prohibited items are subject to confiscation and parent pick up.

Arrival Time: 8:40 to 9:00 AM
Students should arrive between 8:40 and 9:00 AM so they have time to pick up breakfast from the cafeteria and be in class by 9:10 AM.
For parent drop off, families should use the front of the building off Seagoville Road.
Students who drive and school buses will enter through the student parking lot. Parents may not enter the student parking lot from Stark Road for student drop off.

Dallas ISD Backpack and Cell Phone Pouch
For the 2026 to 2027 school year, one hundred percent of Seagoville High School students will receive and use a Dallas ISD provided backpack with an attached cell phone pouch. The policy aligns with HB 1481.
When students enter the building on the first day, cell phones should remain in their pockets until backpacks are distributed during first period. Once backpacks are handed out, students will place their phones inside the attached pouch.
School officials emphasized that if a cell phone is out at any point after a student enters the building, it will be confiscated. Students must bring their Dallas ISD backpack with the attached pouch every day, and keeping a phone in a pocket instead of the pouch will not meet the expectation.
Student IDs
Student IDs must be worn and visible at all times. IDs are also required to use the Securly Hall Pass system at Seagoville High School.
Students who have not yet been issued an ID will have the opportunity to receive one during the first two days of school. Students will be called by last name groups. Until an ID is issued, students will still be permitted to move through the hallways for safety and access.
Chromebooks and Chargers
Students will receive their Chromebooks and chargers on Thursday and Friday of the first week. Once technology is distributed, students are expected to bring their Chromebook and charger to school every day inside their Dallas ISD provided backpack.
Let’s Make It a Great Year, Dragons
Seagoville High School thanked families for partnering with the school to make the first day, and the entire school year, successful. Officials said their goal is for every student to enter the building feeling welcomed, prepared, supported, and ready to learn.
