Families in Dallas ISD and Crandall ISD should complete transportation registration and confirm their child’s bus stop before the first day of school.
The districts use different registration and tracking systems. Parents should follow the instructions for their district rather than assuming enrollment automatically places a student on a bus route.
Crandall ISD Bus Registration
Crandall ISD has a new requirement for the 2026–2027 school year. Every student who plans to ride a district bus must complete the Crandall ISD Bus Rider Registration Form as soon as possible so the Transportation Department can plan routes, stops and bus assignments.
Transportation is generally available to students who live at least two miles from their assigned school. Students living closer may qualify when their neighborhood meets the district’s hazardous-route criteria.
Transportation for a student receiving special education services must be established through the student’s Admission, Review and Dismissal process.
Dallas ISD Bus Registration
Dallas ISD families request transportation during electronic school enrollment. Parents must answer “yes” when asked whether the student needs district transportation.
Parents who previously selected “no” should contact their child’s school registrar or data controller. The campus must update the student’s transportation request before route information becomes available.
The district provides additional instructions on its Dallas ISD transportation registration page, including requirements for choice-school, special education and alternative-program students.
Students attending a choice school may need to select an approved choice-school stop. Transportation required by a student’s individualized education program must be requested through the ARD committee and may take three to five days to process.
Dallas ISD transportation is generally available to eligible students who attend their assigned school and live at least two miles away. Different rules may apply to special programs and court-ordered placements.
How Crandall ISD Parents Find a Route
Crandall ISD uses the My Ride K-12 system to provide bus numbers, stops and estimated pickup and drop-off times.
Parents can visit the district’s Crandall ISD bus information page to download the app or open the online platform. The web version is also available through the My Ride K-12 website.
After creating an account, parents must search for Crandall ISD and connect their child using the student’s identification number and birthdate.
My Ride K-12 can provide:
- The assigned bus number.
- Pickup and drop-off locations.
- Scheduled route times.
- Available real-time bus tracking.
- Delay and route-change notifications.
Parents who cannot connect their child should contact the child’s campus or the Transportation Department.
How Dallas ISD Parents Find a Route
Dallas ISD publishes its 2026–2027 bus routes by campus, allowing families to select an elementary, middle or high school and review the available stop information.
The district also encourages parents to use the Edulog Parent Portal for GPS information and approximate bus arrival times. Families can open the Dallas ISD parent transportation resources and select “Bus Tracking App” for English or Spanish instructions.
Parents should recheck route information before school begins. Bus numbers, drivers, vehicles and scheduled times can change as routes are adjusted.
What Parents Should Know About Delays
Bus times are estimates. Traffic, road construction, weather, mechanical issues and longer-than-usual boarding times can cause delays.
Crandall ISD uses My Ride K-12 to communicate route delays and changes. Parents should remain signed in and allow notifications. Families should also monitor ParentSquare, which is Crandall ISD’s official school-to-home communication platform.
Dallas ISD families should monitor the Edulog Parent Portal and district or campus messages. A bus appearing several minutes behind schedule does not always mean the route has been canceled.
Parents should contact transportation when a bus is significantly late and no alert has been issued. They should be prepared to provide the student’s name, campus, bus number, stop location and scheduled pickup time.
Pickup and Bus-Stop Procedures
Dallas ISD students should arrive at their assigned stop at least five minutes early. The district’s published 2026–2027 route page recommends arriving five to 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
Crandall ISD students should arrive at least five minutes early. Regular-route buses generally load waiting students and leave without waiting for children who arrive late.
Students must use their assigned or authorized stop. Dallas ISD drivers may load and unload passengers only at authorized locations, and students may not ride a bus to reach a destination other than the school in which they are enrolled.
Parents should not ask a driver to make an unscheduled stop, change a child’s route or allow a student to ride another bus without approval.
Crandall ISD families who use a stop only occasionally should confirm that service remains active. Stops without riders for three consecutive days may be temporarily suspended until the Transportation Department is notified that service is needed again.
Families should create a backup plan for missed buses. Children should know whether to return home, contact a trusted adult or follow another family-approved procedure. They should never chase or run alongside a moving bus.
