CYSA Sets August Meeting and Mandatory Tackle Football Weigh-Ins

The Crandall Youth Sports Association will hold its August community meeting Tuesday, Aug. 4, as preparations continue for the upcoming season.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Central Baptist Church parking lot. Organizers plan to meet beside the church in a shaded area.

Parents, coaches and community members are encouraged to attend to receive program updates, learn about upcoming plans and participate in discussions involving CYSA activities.

Attendance may also affect voting eligibility later in the year. Anyone who wants to vote in the CYSA Board Member elections must attend at least three board meetings during the year.

Tackle Football Weigh-Ins Required

CYSA has also announced two mandatory weigh-in opportunities for tackle football players.

The weigh-ins will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, and Saturday, Aug. 22, at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Rockwall.

Every tackle football player must attend one of the two scheduled sessions. Flag football players are not required to participate in weigh-ins.

No make-up dates will be offered. Players who do not complete the required weigh-in process will be ineligible to play during the season.

When families arrive at Dick’s Sporting Goods, they should tell employees they are attending the Premier Lakes Football League weigh-ins. Staff members will have a roster of the players scheduled to participate.

Parents are encouraged to select a date in advance and make the necessary arrangements to ensure their player completes the requirement.
