Local families can prepare for the upcoming school year while enjoying free health services, school supplies and children’s activities during the Back-to-School Community Health Fair on Saturday, Aug. 1.
The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at A Bella Vita Weddings & Events, 314 Glendale Ave. in Seagoville.
Students from prekindergarten through 12th grade and their families are invited to attend.
Backpacks and School Supplies
Children attending the health fair can receive a free backpack and school supplies while quantities remain available.
Families are encouraged to arrive early because organizers expect demand for the complimentary items to be high. Distribution will continue only while supplies last.
The event is designed to help parents reduce some of the expenses associated with the beginning of a new school year while connecting families with organizations serving the Seagoville area.
Free Health Screenings
Community members will have access to free health screenings during the four-hour event.
Services are expected to include blood-pressure and glucose checks, along with information about asthma and other health concerns.
Parkland Health is among the organizations supporting the event. Families will also be able to meet representatives from community groups and learn about programs that may provide continuing health, educational and family assistance.
Activities for Children and Families
The health fair will include a bounce house, face painting, games, music, prizes and other family-friendly activities.
Organizers are combining health and educational resources with entertainment to create an event that children can enjoy while parents collect information and complete back-to-school preparations.
Community-resource stations will offer school information, giveaways and assistance intended to help families begin the academic year with greater access to local support.
Raffle Offers Event Package Worth More Than $4,000
Attendees will also have an opportunity to enter a raffle for an event-venue package valued at more than $4,000.
Additional information about entering the raffle and the package included will be available during the health fair.
A Bella Vita Weddings & Events is hosting the gathering at its Seagoville venue.
Final Call for Vendors
Organizers said Tuesday, July 28, is the final day for businesses and organizations to register as vendors.
Participating vendors will have an opportunity to introduce their services to local families, distribute information and become part of a community event focused on health, education and school readiness.
Prospective vendors can use the registration QR code included on the official event announcement before enrollment closes.
Registered vendors include Willann’s Catering & Events, Mini Kekis, Zenith Heating & Cooling, Together Leading Change, Faith Center of Seagoville, AT&T Seagoville, Wingstop at 410 N. Highway 175, Suite 208, and JCM Party Rentals.
