A McKinney Independent School District high school coach has been placed on administrative leave following a viral social media video in which a former student accused him of sexual misconduct dating back more than a decade.
Dedrick Bogard, a coach at McKinney ISD, faces allegations from Alexis, a former student at Seagoville High School, who claims that 13 years ago, when she was 16, Bogard—her coach and teacher—engaged in inappropriate behavior that culminated in an alleged assault at his home. Since her video gained widespread attention, other former students have reportedly shared similar accounts, suggesting that the alleged conduct was not an isolated incident.
McKinney ISD issued a statement confirming Bogard’s administrative leave pending investigation. “The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority.
