Early-Bird Registration Deadline Nears for 2026 Some Run in Seagoville

Runners, walkers and community members planning to participate in the 2026 Some Run have until Friday, July 31, to register at the event’s reduced early-bird rates.

Full registration pricing begins Saturday, August 1, giving prospective participants a limited opportunity to secure their place at the lowest available price. Those with an eligible promotional code may receive an additional 10 percent discount.

The sixth annual Some Run will take place Saturday, October 3, at Bruce Central Park, located at 1801 N. Highway 175 in Seagoville. The community event includes a competitive timed 5K, an untimed 5K walk and roll, and a shorter shuffle around the park’s pond.

Early-Bird Registration Options

Current early-bird pricing is $40 for the timed 5K run, $30 for the untimed 5K walk and roll, and $20 for the shuffle.

The timed 5K is designed for runners pursuing a personal best, participating in their first organized race or competing for cash awards. The course is described by organizers as fast and flat, making it accessible to recreational runners while still offering a competitive challenge for experienced racers.

The walk and roll division gives participants the opportunity to complete the 5K course at their own pace. It is open to those who prefer walking, use mobility equipment or simply want to enjoy the event without being timed.

Participants who cannot comfortably complete a full 5K may register for the shuffle, a leisurely sidewalk stroll around the pond at Bruce Central Park. The shorter event allows people of different ages and physical abilities to take part in the day’s activities.

Cash Awards Await Top Finishers

The competitive 5K will award cash prizes to the top three male and female finishers.

First-place male and female runners will each receive $500. Second-place finishers will each earn $250, while third-place finishers will each receive $125. Age-group awards and team recognition are also planned.

That prize structure gives local runners an added incentive to test themselves on race day, while the walk, roll and shuffle divisions preserve the inclusive community atmosphere that has become central to the Some Run.

Racing for an Important Cause

Proceeds from the event benefit the A-T Children’s Project and its work supporting research aimed at finding treatments and a cure for Ataxia Telangiectasia.

A-T is a rare genetic disease that can cause progressive loss of muscle control, immune-system complications and an increased cancer risk. The annual Seagoville event combines athletic competition, community participation and awareness of the children and families affected by the disease.

The event’s message emphasizes that participation is not limited to competitive runners. People may run, walk, roll or shuffle, while others can contribute by volunteering, sponsoring or registering for one of the virtual participation options.

Participants registered after September 1 may not be guaranteed an event shirt or medal, providing another reason to complete registration early. Race-day activities are scheduled to begin during the morning, with the timed 5K starting first, followed by the walk and roll and the shuffle.

Those interested in competing, completing their first 5K or joining friends and relatives for a more relaxed experience can register through atcp.org/SomeRun/ before the early-bird deadline.

With lower registration prices ending July 31, organizers are encouraging participants to secure their spots now rather than waiting for full pricing to take effect.
