Seagoville High School has released its updated dress code ahead of the 2026 to 2027 school year, asking families to review the guidelines with students before the first day of classes.
According to Seagoville High School, the dress code is intended to help create a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment where students can represent the school with pride. The school is asking parents and guardians to go over the updated guidelines with their students in advance of the school year.
Key reminders outlined by the school include requirements that tops must have sleeves and provide full coverage, and that shorts, skirts, and dresses must be knee length or longer. The dress code also prohibits sagging pants, ripped clothing above the knee, and sleepwear. Closed toe, closed heel shoes are required, and hats and face coverings are not permitted unless approved for religious or medical purposes.
Under the dress code, head coverings are allowed for religious or medical purposes, and hair accessories such as headbands, barrettes, and ribbons are permitted. Sunglasses are not allowed on campus unless medically necessary.
For upper garments, acceptable tops include t shirts, polo shirts, blouses, button down shirts, sweaters, and similar items. Clothing must fully cover the chest, torso, waist, and back, and undergarments must be completely covered.
For lower garments, bottoms must be worn at the natural waistline and must fit securely without sagging. Leggings, yoga pants, and similar form fitting pants must be worn with a top that covers the hips. Acceptable footwear includes athletic shoes, dress shoes, and boots, while bedroom shoes, slippers, flip flops, and sandals of any kind are not permitted.
The school noted that failure to comply with dress code expectations will result in a Level I violation under the Dallas ISD Student Code of Conduct.
