Dallas ISD is introducing a universal student badge system for all students beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, the district announced this week.
The new ID badges will be printed directly on each campus and will feature a consistent design used across the district, customized with each individual school’s mascot. Campuses will receive all necessary equipment and supplies to produce the badges, including lanyards and ID badge cards.
Dallas ISD has long required students to carry identification badges while on campus. What changes under the new system is convenience. Rather than juggling separate passes or codes for different services, students will be able to use a single badge for transportation, meals, library checkouts, and athletic events.
District officials say the move is designed to streamline daily campus operations while also enhancing security for students and staff.
