CRANDALL — The Crandall City Council held its regular meeting Monday, May 4, 2026, addressing resident concerns, accepting the city’s fiscal year 2025 audit, and honoring three outgoing councilmembers for their years of service.
Mayor David Lindsey called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. at the Crandall Court Chambers. Following the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance, Lindsey conducted roll call and confirmed a quorum.
During the public comment period, resident Jan Reynolds addressed the council with concerns about traffic and requested additional speed bumps in the city. Lindsey directed the City Manager to research potential options and best practices in response.
Mayor Pro Tem Scott Rogers thanked city staff for their work on the recent Spring Clean Up Event and announced that the Neighbors Helping Neighbors program is seeking volunteers. Residents interested in volunteering were encouraged to contact Jason Brooks, Rogers, or City Hall directly. Lindsey asked city staff to promote the volunteer need on the city’s website and social media channels. Lindsey also noted that Crandall Independent School District has upcoming events, with details available through the district’s website and social media.
The City Manager presented an update on Farmers Market fees and requirements, covering special event classifications, permit applications, insurance requirements, vendor rules, and the city’s fee structure. Following the presentation, Lindsey requested that staff schedule a town hall meeting to gather citizen input on the matter.
The council approved its consent agenda, including the minutes from the April 20, 2026, meeting, on a unanimous 4 to 0 vote.
In a ceremonial moment, Lindsey presented proclamations individually honoring Councilmember Kimberly Herrera, Councilmember Adam Holden, and Councilmember Tim Atkins for their service to the city. Holden was recognized for six years on the council, while Atkins was recognized for nine years of service.
Louis Breedlove, Senior Audit Manager with BrooksWatson and CO, presented the city’s fiscal year 2025 audit. The presentation covered the audit process, components of the annual financial report, financial highlights, general fund and budget results, and the Utilities Fund’s statement of revenues and expenses. The council voted unanimously, 4 to 0, to accept the audit.
The council also approved Resolution No. 05042026, formally appointing Sabrina Del Bosque as City Secretary of Crandall. The resolution passed with a unanimous 4 to 0 vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m. following a unanimous vote.
