SEAGOVILLE — Isabella Vazquez delivered Seagoville High School’s highest varsity finish at the UIL District 13-5A cross country championships Oct. 7, placing 13th in the girls’ 5,000-meter race.
Vazquez finished in 22 minutes, 50.70 seconds, according to published Texas MileSplit results.
Teammate Lailah Acuna placed fourth in the junior varsity girls’ division in 25:25.70, giving Seagoville a top-five finish in that race.
In the varsity boys’ competition, Jaden Solis finished 46th in 21:03.50 over the same 5,000-meter distance. Those were the three Seagoville performances listed on the meet’s school-specific results.
The results distinguish between varsity and junior varsity competition.
Acuna’s fourth-place finish came in the JV division, while Vazquez and Solis competed in the varsity races that determine advancement through the UIL postseason.
Under UIL rules, the top three teams and top 10 individual finishers advance from district to the regional meet. An individual qualifier can also belong to an advancing team.
Vazquez’s 13th-place finish and Solis’ 46th-place finish were outside the individual qualifying positions.
Seagoville Middle School’s championship opportunity appeared on Dallas ISD for the middle school district championships scheduled for Oct. 7 at Wilmer-Hutchins Eagle Stadium.
That notice listed competition for middle school Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4, with girls scheduled to race at 6 p.m. and boys at 6:30 p.m.
However, the announcement did not provide school rosters, individual times, finishing positions or team scores.
Seagoville Middle School’s participation and results could not be independently confirmed from the publicly accessible records reviewed for this report.
