For many Combine residents, city government can feel like a mystery. Meetings happen, decisions get made, and yet most people couldn’t tell you who represents them at City Hall. Shop in Seagoville is changing that with a simple guide to the six people who currently lead the City of Combine.
Combine operates under a Mayor and City Council structure, with six council seats plus the Mayor’s office. Terms are staggered across two year cycles so that the entire council never turns over at once, giving the city continuity even as individual members come and go.
How to Have Your Voice Heard
Combine’s council structure gives residents several ways to participate. Citizens can bring a non agenda item before the council during the Citizen Comments portion of a meeting, though a sign in form must be completed beforehand. Speakers are limited to three minutes each and are heard on a first come basis, excluding personnel matters. For items residents want formally added to a future agenda, the process runs through a sitting Council Member or the City Manager, who then coordinates with the Mayor.
Agendas and minutes for upcoming and past meetings are posted on the city’s website at combinetx.com, giving residents a way to follow along even if they cannot attend in person.
With three seats up in May 2027 and three in May 2028, Combine residents will have regular opportunities to weigh in on who represents them at City Hall. Knowing who currently holds those seats is the first step.
