Shop in Seagoville Seeks Two Business Partners

Date:

Help connect local businesses with local customers through our hometown guides and website.

Shop in Seagoville is seeking two bilingual motivated partners to help recruit advertisers, build business relationships and coordinate advertising for the Hometown Weekend Guide and Hometown Shopping Guide.

This opportunity is suited to people who enjoy meeting business owners, communicating clearly and following through.

We are looking for dependable collaborators who can take responsibility for their work and help turn conversations into confirmed advertising bookings.

Why We’re Seeking Help

Shop in Seagoville brings together hometown news, shopping discoveries, dining ideas, community resources and advertising opportunities for Seagoville, Crandall and Combine.

Publisher Marvin “Merv” Moore is continuing to recover from a September stroke and is seeking help with the business responsibilities of operating the website.

“I want to keep building something useful for our communities and local businesses, but I need dependable people to share the workload,” Moore said.

The immediate priority is helping businesses participate in the guides while making the advertising process organized and straightforward.

Partner 1: Business Outreach and Sales

This partner will introduce business owners to Shop in Seagoville’s advertising opportunities and help them choose placements suited to their needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contacting local shops, restaurants, service providers and independent makers.
  • Explaining the guides, available advertising packages and publication schedules.
  • Following up with interested business owners.
  • Securing bookings using approved prices and terms.
  • Keeping clear records of prospects, conversations and next steps.
  • Maintaining relationships with advertisers interested in future editions.

The ideal person is bilingual and comfortable starting conversations, asking for a sale and following up professionally. Experience in advertising, sales, customer service or local business networking would be valuable.

Partner 2: Sales and Advertiser Coordination

This partner will help bring in additional advertisers and organize the information needed to prepare their placements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Recruiting businesses for the guides and other approved website advertising.
  • Collecting business descriptions, contact information, photographs and website links.
  • Confirming that advertiser materials are complete.
  • Preparing placements for publisher review.
  • Tracking materials deadlines and publication status.
  • Helping with routine website updates and promotional tasks.

Bilingual experience would be preferred, along with digital photographs or social media. Strong organization, accurate work and dependable communication are especially important.

Who Should Express Interest?

We welcome inquiries from experienced salespeople, freelance marketers, website assistants, retirees and other community members with relevant skills.

Existing business relationships in Seagoville, Crandall, Combine or nearby communities would be an advantage. Bilingual English-Spanish communication skills would be preferred.

Above all, we are seeking people who can work independently, represent the website professionally and complete what they commit to doing.

Compensation and Working Arrangements

Compensation, including potential sales commissions, responsibilities and availability will be discussed directly with interested candidates before work begins.

These are working collaboration opportunities. The partners are also available to inquire website ownership and the opportunity to become full website owner next year.

We are seeking people available to begin soon, with the possibility of an ongoing role as the working relationship develops.

Interested? Let’s Talk.

Please contact Shop in Seagoville through our Contact page and identify your inquiry as “Business Partner Opportunity.”

Tell us:

  • Which role interests you.
  • Your relevant experience.
  • Your connections to the local business community.
  • Your availability and how soon you could begin.
  • Whether you have WordPress, advertising or design experience.

If you know someone who would be a strong fit, please share this opportunity with them.

Help us introduce more neighbors to the businesses, products and experiences close to home.
