Tractor Supply Harvest Fest Saturday
Tractor Supply’s Harvest Fest is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, including a pop-up community market at participating neighborhood stores. The company describes the event as bringing together local exhibitors, neighbors, and shoppers for a fall-themed market day.
Seagoville residents can check with the local Tractor Supply for exact vendor hours and any store-specific activities before heading out.
Two Food Distributions This Weekend
Crandall ISD will hold its first monthly food distribution of the school year Friday, Sept. 11, at Martin Elementary School, 11601 U.S. 175 Frontage Road. Distribution runs from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., or until supplies are gone, and is intended for families living within Crandall ISD.
The Janis Evans Memorial Food Bank at First Baptist Crandall will also distribute groceries Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, while supplies last. The church is at 400 E. Mowry St., behind Dairy Queen. The food bank operates on the second and fourth Saturday of each month.
Central Celebrates Grandparents Friday
Central Elementary families will celebrate Grandparents’ Day with a special dance Friday. Organizers are planning music, dancing, and a chance for students and grandparents to spend time together.
Popcorn, temporary tattoos, and light-up accessories will be available for purchase. Families should remember that those purchases are cash only.
Karaoke Friday at Cotton Gin
Friday night karaoke returns to the Cotton Gin in Crandall, with Corey Watson scheduled from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The restaurant is at 1500 U.S. 175 Frontage Road in Crandall.
For residents looking for something to do after dinner, it provides one of the few Friday-night entertainment options in town that does not involve high school sports.
Live Music Saturday at Cotton Gin
The Cotton Gin has another entertainment option Saturday, when Brayden Stewart is scheduled to perform live from 7 to 10 p.m.
That gives Crandall residents back-to-back nights of entertainment at the restaurant, with karaoke Friday followed by live music Saturday.
Seagoville Hosts Poteet Friday
Seagoville opens district football play Friday night when Mesquite Poteet visits Seagoville Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
The Dragons are 1-1 after bouncing back from a season-opening loss at Palestine with a 59-13 victory over Bryan Adams. Poteet also enters the game 1-1, making Friday the first district test for both programs.
Crandall Hosts Terrell Friday
Crandall finally gets its first home football game of the season Friday when Terrell visits Pirate Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Pirates enter the game 0-2 after road losses to Denton Braswell and Rowlett. Terrell comes to Crandall at 1-1, giving the Pirates another opportunity to earn their first victory before district play begins later this month.
Volleyball Teams Hit the Road
Both local varsity volleyball programs are on the road Friday. Crandall travels to Ennis for a 5:30 p.m. match, while Seagoville visits Adamson for a 7:30 p.m. match.
Seagoville enters the weekend 11-11 overall and 3-1 in district play after sweeping Thomas Jefferson last week. Crandall is scheduled to begin another important stretch of district competition with its trip to Ennis.
RPM Speedway Races Saturday Night
RPM Speedway in Crandall returns to action Saturday, Sept. 12, with the American Crate Late Models listed as the featured attraction.
The dirt track is located at 1267 County Road 4104. Fans should check the speedway’s race-day information for gate times, divisions, and any schedule changes before making the trip.
