The Seagoville Planning and Zoning Commission will consider a request to rezone property on West Simonds Road from residential to light manufacturing when it meets Tuesday, Aug. 25.
The commission’s regular meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Seagoville City Hall, 702 N. Highway 175.
Public Hearing Set for 610 W. Simonds Road
A public hearing is scheduled for zoning Case No. 2026-015Z involving property at 610 W. Simonds Road.
The applicant is requesting that the property be rezoned from the Residential (R-2) zoning district to the Light Manufacturing (LM) zoning district.
Commission members will conduct the public hearing, discuss the request and make a recommendation to the Seagoville City Council. The Planning and Zoning Commission’s role in the case is advisory, with the City Council responsible for considering the zoning change.
Commission Leadership
The commission will also consider the nomination and selection of a chair and vice chair.
The posted agenda currently identifies Tommy Lemond as chair and Shelley D. Sipriano as vice chair. Other commissioners include Tasha Smyth, Amanda Moore, Cindy Burkett and Cheri Childress.
Stormwater Training
Commission members are scheduled to receive stormwater training required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The agenda also includes consideration of minutes from the commission’s July 7 meeting and discussion of possible future agenda items.
Public Comments
Residents who wish to speak during the public comments portion of the meeting must register with the board liaison before addressing the commission.
Registered speakers are allotted three minutes and may speak on items listed on the agenda. Under the meeting rules, commission members may not discuss or take action in response to comments made during the public comments period.
