Local Church Tour • Part 2 of a Series
A 130 year old congregation on East Mowry Street keeps its focus on families drawing closer to Christ
Our Local Church Tour series continues with a stop just down the road in Crandall. First Baptist Crandall traces its roots back to 1893, when the congregation first gathered on foot, horseback and horse drawn wagon. More than a century later, the church still centers its work on one simple idea: helping families of every shape and size grow closer to Christ.

What To Expect
Sunday mornings begin early at First Baptist Crandall with a nine o’clock prayer gathering, followed by Sunday School classes for different age groups at a quarter to ten. The main worship service starts at eleven, and on the last Sunday of each month the congregation shares communion together after the service. For members who cannot make it in person, an evening worship service streams live on Facebook. The church keeps its doors open midweek too, with a Men’s Bible Study on Monday evenings and a full Wednesday evening lineup covering worship, Bible study, youth and children’s programming.
Who They Are
First Baptist Crandall sits in the heart of Crandall, right next to the local Dairy Queen, and describes itself as a loving, Christ centered Baptist church focused on glorifying God and serving its neighbors. Under Pastor Nathan Hartfield, the church says its mission is to share the hope of the gospel, nurture spiritual growth and create a welcoming space for people of every background, whether they are new to faith, searching for a church home or simply exploring.
