The Seagoville Library Advisory Board will meet Tuesday, Aug. 18, with the city’s July library activity report and a discussion of library policies and procedures among the items on the agenda.
The regular meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Seagoville City Hall, 702 N. Highway 175. The City of Seagoville’s online calendar lists the meeting from 5 to 6 p.m.
July Library Activity Report
Board members are scheduled to receive the Seagoville Public Library’s activity report for July 2026.
The report shows 1,865 items circulated during July, along with 1,599 library visits. The library recorded 56.25 volunteer hours during the month.
The monthly statistics also list participation figures of 19 for Chess Club, 17 for Teen Night and three for Fiber Arts Club, while the Summer Reading Club programs recorded 334.
Library Policies on Agenda
The board also will discuss library policies and procedures, an issue carried forward from its July meeting. The July 21 meeting minutes identified updating library policies as a future agenda item.
Tuesday’s agenda also calls for consideration of the July 21 meeting minutes and discussion of future agenda items.
At the July meeting, board members unanimously appointed Pat Bearden as chair and Sandra Waggoner as vice chair. The board also received the June library activity report before adjourning.
The Library Advisory Board serves in an advisory capacity to the Seagoville City Council on matters involving the library. The city states that its boards and commissions provide residents with a voice in municipal government.
Public Comments
Residents who want to speak during the public comment portion of Tuesday’s meeting must register with the board liaison. Registered speakers are allowed three minutes to address items listed on the agenda. Under the posted meeting rules, the board may not discuss or take action in response to comments made during the public comment period.
