The Keep Seagoville Beautiful Commission will meet Tuesday, Aug. 18, with Yard of the Month and Business of the Month selections, Oncor tree donations and a proposed art contest among the items scheduled for discussion.
The regular meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Seagoville City Hall, 702 N. Highway 175.
Yard and Business of the Month
Commission members are scheduled to discuss and consider the city’s Yard of the Month and Business of the Month selections.
At the commission’s July 21 meeting, 1010 Woodside was selected as the July Yard of the Month, while Seagoville Veterinary Clinic was named Business of the Month.
According to the July meeting minutes, properties nominated for Yard of the Month that were not selected remained eligible for consideration the following month.
Oncor Tree Donations
The commission will also discuss Oncor tree donations.
City Manager Carey Neal presented information about the tree donations during the July meeting. The subject was subsequently identified as an item for continued discussion.
Arbor Day is also listed among the commission’s future agenda topics.
KSB Art Contest
Another item returning from July is a proposed Keep Seagoville Beautiful art contest.
During last month’s meeting, Staff Liaison Vivian Rawlings indicated that additional information about the contest would be provided at the Aug. 18 meeting. Commissioners are scheduled Tuesday to discuss and consider the proposal.
The commission will also consider approval of its July 21 meeting minutes before discussing future agenda items.
Public Comments
The meeting includes a public comment period. Anyone wishing to address the commission must first register with the board liaison.
Registered speakers are allowed three minutes to speak on items listed on the agenda. Under the city’s posted meeting procedures, the commission may not discuss or take action in response to comments made during the public comment portion of the meeting.
The City of Seagoville describes its boards and commissions as advisory bodies to the City Council that provide residents with a voice in municipal government.
