The City of Seagoville Citizens Charter Review Commission will meet Thursday, Aug. 13, as members begin work on the city’s charter review process.
The regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the Training Room at the Seagoville Police Department, 1185 E. Simonds Road.
Commission Leadership on the Agenda
One of the commission’s first orders of business will be the introduction of members and city staff.
Commission members are also scheduled to discuss and consider the selection of a chair and vice chair, establishing leadership positions as the group moves forward with its review responsibilities.
Charter Review Process to Be Discussed
The commission is scheduled to receive an overview of the charter review process, including discussion of the specific sections that have been requested for review.
The agenda does not identify those individual charter sections or outline potential amendments. Thursday’s meeting is expected to provide commissioners with an initial framework for the review process and the areas they will be asked to examine.
Commission members will also discuss future meeting dates and future agenda items before adjournment.
Public Comments Included

Anyone wishing to speak must register before addressing the commission. Registered speakers will be allowed three minutes to speak on items listed on the agenda.
Under the meeting procedures, commission members may not discuss or take action in response to comments made during the public-comment portion of the meeting.
