Seagoville drivers will need to plan ahead starting Tuesday, August 11, when Phase 1 of a two phase construction project closes May Road to through traffic. According to a traffic control plan filed by contractor Pavecon and prepared by Site Barricades, the closure is expected to last approximately six weeks.
What Is Closing
The plan shows May Road closed to through traffic in the residential area near May Road Circle, Baylee Street, Trent Street, Julie Street and Bluffview Drive. Access points at Parkhaven Drive, Hillhaven Drive and Woodhaven Drive are also affected by work zone signage in the area.
Detour Route
A signed detour loops around the closed work zone using Huddleston Court, East Farmers Road and Alto Road on the north and west side of the neighborhood, connecting through Hall Road and the US 175 Frontage Road on the east side. Drivers should watch for orange work zone signage and Type III barricades marking the detour along the route.
Work Zone Details
Per the filed plan, traffic control devices are spaced on 30 foot centers throughout the work zone. The plan is labeled Phase 1 of 2, meaning residents should expect an additional phase of work once this stage is complete. A specific timeline for Phase 2 has not been confirmed as of this writing.
