The Seagoville Dragons of the Seagoville Youth Sports Association extended a heartfelt thank you to Coach Gordon Booker and the Seagoville High School staff for hosting the annual Jr. Dragons Camp.
“What an incredible night filled with hard work, excitement, and unforgettable memories for our young athletes,” the association said in a statement. “Thank you for investing your time, energy, and knowledge into the next generation of Dragons and for giving our players the opportunity to learn from some of the best.”
The camp represents a continued effort to rebuild the Dragon legacy, a mission that Booker has embraced since his arrival. Named the new head football coach at Seagoville in May 2024, Booker inherited a program that was left in shambles by previous head coach Stephen Jackson Jr., who took several of the team’s top players to West Mesquite. Despite those challenges, Booker has compiled an 8-14 overall record (7-7 in district play) while working to restore the program’s foundation.
“The future is bright, and we are proud to continue building the Dragon legacy together,” the youth association added. “We can’t wait to see what this season has in store!”
The Dragons open the 2026 season on the road against Palestine on Aug. 28 before hosting Bryan Adams on Sept. 4 in their home opener at James Ray Henry Memorial Stadium in Seagoville.
