The Keep Seagoville Beautiful Commission will meet Tuesday, July 21, at 6:30 p.m. inside the Council Chambers at Seagoville City Hall, located at 702 N. Highway 175.
Several community beautification initiatives are scheduled for discussion. Commissioners will review a Texas Department of Transportation grant, consider tree donations from Oncor and discuss plans for a Keep Seagoville Beautiful art contest. The commission will also revisit the YOTM/BOTM program, which is expected to remain part of its future meeting agenda. Arbor Day has also been identified as a topic for a future meeting.
The meeting will include the introduction of commission members and the appointment of a chair and vice chair. The commission is currently composed of Charlotte D. Hernandez, Sandra Waggoner, Teena Gayle, Alysha Anderton, Diane Marshall, Mary Schimmel and Donna Hudson.
Commissioners will also consider approving the minutes from the June 16 meeting and discuss providing nametags for new members. No final decision on the grant, tree donations or art contest is described in the posted agenda; those items are scheduled for discussion and possible consideration during the meeting.
Residents will have an opportunity to speak during the public-comment portion of the meeting. Anyone wishing to address the commission must register with the board liaison before speaking. Each registered speaker will receive up to three minutes and must limit comments to subjects listed on the agenda. Commission members cannot discuss or take action in response to comments made during that portion of the meeting.
The Keep Seagoville Beautiful Commission supports local efforts connected to community appearance, environmental awareness and civic participation. Tuesday’s meeting is open to the public.
