The Seagoville Fire Department has officially announced a new firefighter eligibility list test, opening the door for qualified candidates to join the department’s ranks.
According to the department’s recruitment announcement, eligibility verification will begin at 8:00 AM on Saturday, July 18th, with testing set to start at 8:30 AM. The test will be administered at Seagoville Fire Station 2, located at 1189 E. Simonds Road in Seagoville.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates interested in applying must meet the following baseline qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- TCFP certified firefighter
- EMT Basic certification, with paramedic certification preferred
Applicants are required to present a valid Texas driver’s license and bring copies of their TCFP and EMS certifications in order to be eligible to test.
Compensation and Benefits
The Seagoville Fire Department is offering a competitive pay and benefits package for incoming firefighters, including:
- A 48/96 shift schedule
- Starting salary range of $66,000 to $71,000
- An additional $6,000 in paramedic pay
- Certification incentive pay beginning at year two of service
- FLSA overtime pay
- TMRS retirement with a 2:1 city match
- Medical, dental, life, and long term benefits
