With Independence Day approaching, the City of Seagoville is asking residents to keep safety in mind while celebrating the holiday. City officials say the goal is simple: enjoy the 4th of July while protecting the community, its residents, and its first responders.
Fireworks Remain Illegal Within City Limits
The City of Seagoville is reminding residents that fireworks are illegal within city limits. This includes neighborhoods, streets, parks, and any areas near homes. According to the City, fireworks can lead to fires, injuries, and disturbances that affect residents, veterans, children, and pets throughout the community.
When to Call 911
City officials say residents should call 911 in the following situations:
- A fire is occurring or threatening people or property
- Someone is seriously injured or experiencing a medical emergency
- You witness a crime in progress
- There is an immediate danger to someone’s safety
When NOT to Call 911
The City is also asking residents to avoid calling 911 for the following, noncritical situations:
- To report fireworks that are not creating an immediate emergency
- For general noise complaints or non urgent concerns
- For questions about city rules or holiday events
