The City of Crandall is inviting residents and business owners within city limits to take part in its annual Spring Clean Up, a one day event combining bulk trash collection, free document shredding and a food and clothing donation drive.
The event is set for Saturday, April 25, from 9am to 12pm, at 104 East Trunk St in Crandall.
In exchange for the shredding and bulk collection services, the City is asking residents to bring a donation of unexpired canned or non perishable food items. Gently worn clothing donations are also being accepted. All donations will benefit local food banks and clothing closets in Kaufman County.
Acceptable Items for Bulk Collection
Furniture, mattresses, box springs, appliances (no freon), bags of leaves, aluminum cans, plastic, glass, newspapers, tree limbs and shrubbery (less than 10 feet long and 8 inches in diameter), and construction, demolition or remodeling debris.
Items Not Accepted
Tires, paint, chemicals, electronics, loose garbage, glass, car parts, bricks, concrete and dirt will not be accepted at the event.
Free Document Shredding
Shred it, a Securit company, will be on site providing safe and secure document shredding for residents. All paper documents will be accepted with no need to remove staples, paperclips, rubber bands, small binder clips or file folders. Residents are asked to remove large binder clips, binders, magnets, CDs, floppy disks and all plastic and metal items before bringing documents to be shredded.
