The Crandall Police Department is recruiting officers who already hold Texas Commission on Law Enforcement certification, according to a department hiring announcement posted Sept. 12.
The starting salary is $68,270 beginning Oct. 1, 2026. Certified officers with qualifying experience may enter the pay scale at up to $78,270 at Step 5.
The department advertises a 12-year salary progression that tops out at $92,270. Lateral entry pay depends on experience; the maximum is not guaranteed to every applicant.
The recruitment lists 144 hours of paid time off, two weeks of vacation, an optional 457 retirement plan, and city-paid health and dental insurance. It also lists an 8% employee contribution to the Texas Municipal Retirement System with a two-to-one city match, and “16 paid holidays” figure appears to include 14 holidays and two floating holidays, as described in the job listing.
Applicants must have current TCOLE certification and a valid Texas driver’s license. The job listing says candidates must pass a background check, drug screening, and medical and psychological evaluations. Officers must be available for shifts that include weekends and holidays. Municipal police experience is preferred.
