Crandall residents have an opportunity to make sure local senior citizens are remembered when Christmas arrives this year.
The City of Crandall is accepting nominations for its annual Stockings for Seniors program, which provides Christmas stockings filled with gifts and comfort items to qualifying seniors in the community.
Residents are encouraged to think about the older adults in their lives — a parent who spent years raising a family, a grandparent who rarely misses a school activity or ballgame, or a longtime neighbor who has watched Crandall change and grow.
A simple nomination could help make their holiday season a little brighter.
Who Can Be Nominated?
The city has established three eligibility requirements for the 2026 program.
Nominees must be at least 65 years old, live in Crandall, and receive utility services from the City of Crandall.
Nominations must be submitted by Monday, Nov. 30.
The city’s online nomination form asks for basic information about the senior, including their name, address, age, and telephone number. The person submitting the nomination also provides contact information and their relationship to the nominee.
There is also an optional space where residents can explain why they are nominating the senior.
Information submitted through the form is used to administer the Stockings for Seniors program and is not shared outside the program’s administration process.

Community Can Donate, Too
Residents who do not have someone to nominate can still participate by donating items for the Christmas stockings.
The city is requesting new items such as grippy socks, cozy blankets, gloves, scarves, hats, activity books, individually wrapped candy, toothbrushes, toothpaste, nail clippers, lotions, towels, batteries, and other practical or comforting gifts.
Donations are due by Nov. 30 and may be dropped off at 116 S. Main Street in Crandall. The city lists weekday drop-off hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The program combines those community donations into stockings designed to provide both useful items and a reminder that older residents remain an important part of the community.
Deliveries Planned for Dec. 9
The city plans to deliver the 2026 Stockings for Seniors on Wednesday, Dec. 9.
For families, friends, and neighbors, the nomination process requires only a few minutes. For the senior receiving the stocking, however, the gesture could mean considerably more.
It is a chance for Crandall residents to recognize people who have spent decades supporting families, neighborhoods, schools, churches, businesses, and the community itself — and to make sure they know they have not been forgotten during the holidays.
