Most people who could produce a terrific local show never bother to try. They picture a studio, a lighting kit and a camera package that costs more than a used truck.
That picture is roughly fifteen years out of date. The phone already in your pocket records sharper video than the broadcast gear local television crews carried in the early 2000s. The Shop in Seagoville Digital Network is now recruiting local creators who intend to shoot exactly that way.
The network launches Monday, Dec. 7, with 14 recurring show franchises. The opening lineup covers local news, city government, schools, prep sports, business and Spanish language programming.
What an iPhone Can Actually Do
A current iPhone records in 4K and stabilizes handheld footage automatically. Most modern Android phones do the same thing.
Audio is the only real weak point, and a clip on microphone solves it for about $25. Add a small tripod and the entire production kit fits in a backpack.
Editing happens on the same device. Free apps handle cuts, titles, music, and captions without a computer.
The 60 Percent Creator Share
Creators receive 60 percent of the collected sponsorship revenue attached to their show. Shop in Seagoville retains 40 percent for sponsorship sales and billing. The network share also covers publishing, marketing, and distribution.
That money is not tied to view counts or platform advertising royalties. It comes from local businesses that choose to sponsor programming their own customers watch.
A show collecting $1,500 in monthly sponsorship would return $900 to the creator. Those numbers illustrate the formula and are not promises of income. The full recruiting announcement walks through the split at three different sponsorship levels.
Fourteen Shows and Room for More
The launch lineup includes Ville Now for local news and After the Gavel for city government. Dirt Moving tracks construction and new development across the coverage area.
Schools get After the Bell, Passing Period, and Clubhouse. Sports viewers get Game Face and At the Buzzer.
Spanish language audiences get Aquí en Casa and Camino al Futuro. Business programming includes Keys to the Community and Covered. Under the Hood and Why I Started complete the December slate.
How to Apply
Applicants may live in Seagoville, Crandall or Combine. Professional media experience is not required for most positions.
The network is looking for a strong concept and someone dependable enough to keep a schedule. Anyone ready to start can apply before the December launch and claim a franchise while the lineup is still open.
