One of Seagoville’s longstanding community golf traditions will return this fall when the 34th Annual Joe Fanning Memorial Golf Classic tees off Friday, Oct. 16, at Kings Creek Country Club in Kemp.
Sponsored by the Seagoville Sunset Lions Club and Seagoville Chamber of Commerce, the four-person scramble will begin with player check-in at 7 a.m., followed by an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
Teams and sponsors are being asked to submit their information no later than Friday, Oct. 2.
The tournament continues a local event with a history stretching back more than three decades. City of Seagoville records confirm the 31st Annual Joe Fanning Memorial Golf Classic was held in 2023, putting this year’s tournament in its 34th year.
Four-Person Scramble Includes Prizes and Awards
Entry is $125 per person, with the tournament played as a four-person scramble.
The entry includes lunch and player gift bags, while competitors will have several opportunities to take home prizes. The tournament will feature cash team awards, two closest-to-the-pin awards and two longest-drive awards.
Golfers age 70 and older will play from the red tees.
One of the biggest prizes of the day will be waiting at Hole No. 8, where the tournament is advertising a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 as the hole-in-one prize.
Tournament organizers are also offering a $100 team boost package that includes a team buy-a-drive, eight team mulligans, four team 50/50 opportunities and 24 team raffle tickets.
Sponsorship Opportunities Available
Local businesses and organizations can also participate through several sponsorship levels.
The Grand Marshall Sponsor is $1,500 and includes a four-player team along with multiple signs, flags and a banner.
The Platinum Lunch Sponsor is $1,000 and includes a four-player team and additional event signage, while the Gold Sponsor is $650 and includes a four-player team and one sign.
A Golf Cart Sponsorship is available for $500 and includes the sponsor’s logo on player golf carts.
The Silver Sponsor level is $300 and includes two signs associated with the putting green and a tournament hole. The Bronze Sponsor level is $200 and includes one hole-sponsor sign.
Organizers are asking that sponsorship commitments also be submitted by Oct. 2.
Tournament Supports Joe Fanning Memorial Scholarship Fund
Those who cannot participate in the tournament can still contribute directly to the Joe Fanning Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The Seagoville Sunset Lions Club has a long history of supporting scholarships and other charitable programs in the community. The organization and the Seagoville Chamber of Commerce are again working together on this year’s tournament.

Tournament Location and Dress Code
The tournament will be held at Kings Creek Country Club, 6025 Club Drive in Kemp.
Participants should note that the tournament flyer lists the street number as 6502 Club Drive, but the country club’s current official website lists its address as 6025 Club Drive, Kemp, TX 75143.
Kings Creek is located near Cedar Creek Lake and operates an 18-hole golf course along with a driving range and clubhouse facilities.
Tournament organizers also note that the course dress code will be enforced. Collared shirts are required and jeans are not permitted.
