Caddo Mills Sweeps Crandall; Lady Pirates Head to Duncanville Tournament

Caddo Mills opened the 2026 volleyball season with a straight-set victory over Crandall on Tuesday at Crandall High School, defeating the Lady Pirates 25-14, 25-23 and 25-23.

After Caddo Mills controlled the opening set, Crandall responded with a much stronger performance over the final two sets. Both were decided by just two points, but Caddo Mills was able to finish each one and complete the 3-0 sweep.

The match was part of the opening week of the high school volleyball season and gave Crandall an early opportunity to evaluate a roster featuring a large senior class along with several returning underclassmen.

Experienced Group Leads Crandall Roster

Head coach Courtney Posey enters the season with seven seniors on the varsity roster.

Harlow Vasquez, a 5-foot-8 libero, is joined by defensive specialist Maddilyn Focken, outside hitter Victoria Garcia, right-side hitter Isabella McAnally, defensive specialist Madeline McAnally, middle hitter Audrey Lambert and middle hitter Jasey Bearden.

Lambert stands 5-foot-11, while Bearden gives Crandall additional size in the middle at 6 feet.

Crandall’s junior class includes setters Barbara Roel Martinez and Amaiyah Holmes, right-side/outside hitter Malayah Garrett, middle/outside hitter Mallory Koller and outside hitter/middle blocker Zerri Wooten.

Sophomores Miken Barnett-Womack, who plays setter and defensive specialist, and right-side hitter Ashlyn Thompson round out the roster.

Sarah Winther serves as an assistant coach for the Lady Pirates.

Duncanville Tournament Up Next

Crandall will have little time between matches as the Lady Pirates move into tournament competition Thursday at the Duncanville Tournament.

The Lady Pirates are scheduled to face Ovilla Christian of Red Oak at 1 p.m. before returning to the court for a 2 p.m. matchup against Irving Nimitz.

Tournament play will give Crandall an opportunity to get multiple early-season matches before the Lady Pirates move deeper into their 2026 schedule.
