Local law enforcement agencies in Seagoville and Crandall are actively recruiting, offering residents two distinct paths into a career in public safety.
Two local law enforcement agencies are opening their doors to new applicants this month, giving area residents interested in a career in public safety two separate opportunities to apply. The City of Seagoville Police Department and the Crandall ISD Police Department are both actively recruiting, though each department is looking for candidates through a different process.
Seagoville Police Department Announces Testing Date
The Seagoville Police Department will hold a written examination and physical agility test on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Testing will take place at the Seagoville Police Department, located at 1185 East Simonds Road, Seagoville, Texas 75159.
Applicants do not need to be TCOLE certified to test, but must be at least 21 years of age to apply. Candidates are asked to wear comfortable clothing, as the physical agility portion of the test will be completed first, followed by the written examination.
Completed applications and waivers must be submitted by Wednesday, August 19th, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. Applications may be submitted by email, fax, or by mail or in person to the City of Seagoville Human Resources Department.

Crandall ISD Police Department Wants the Right Fit, Not Just a Fill
While the City of Seagoville focuses on a traditional testing process, the Crandall ISD Police Department is taking a different approach to recruitment, one centered less on filling a vacancy and more on finding officers suited specifically for school based law enforcement.
According to the department, school based policing is about more than wearing a badge and a uniform. It requires relationship building, prevention, preparation, and being the kind of officer that students and staff can rely on. The department says it is looking for officers who can connect with a kindergartner just as easily as a teenager, work alongside educators day to day, and still be ready to respond when a crisis occurs.
The department is framing the opportunity as more than a job, describing it as a chance to make an impact, build relationships, train, grow, and become part of the community being served. And as the department notes, the schedule does not hurt either, with summers and school holidays off among the benefits of the position.
Benefits Highlighted by Crandall ISD Police

Applicants must be TCOLE certified to be considered for the Crandall ISD Police Department position.

Two Departments, Two Paths Into Public Safety
Between the two openings, area residents interested in law enforcement now have separate paths to consider, one through the traditional testing process at the City of Seagoville Police Department, and another through the school based, community focused role with Crandall ISD Police. Both departments are actively encouraging qualified candidates in the area to apply.
