The Crandall City Council will hold a special meeting Monday, July 27, to consider renewing the city’s agreement with Kaufman County Emergency Services District No. 7 for fire protection and suppression services during the 2027 fiscal year.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. in the Court Chambers inside the Police and Municipal Court Building at 104 E. Trunk Street. The meeting will be open to the public.
The fire-service agreement is the only substantive business item listed on the meeting agenda. Council members may discuss the proposed renewal and take action, but the agenda does not include the agreement’s cost, service terms, duration or any proposed changes from the current arrangement. It also does not indicate what action the council may ultimately take.
The City of Crandall’s official Agenda Center identifies the gathering as a special called City Council meeting and shows that the notice was posted July 21.
Crandall normally holds regular City Council meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month. Those meetings are also held in the Court Chambers at 104 E. Trunk Street. The July 27 session is being conducted separately from that regular schedule.
The agenda also provides for an invocation, the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call and confirmation of a quorum before the council considers the fire-protection agreement. The council may enter executive session when permitted under state law, although the agenda does not state that a closed session is planned.
