Seagoville Elementary Families Can Receive Free Fresh Produce

Seagoville Elementary families have an opportunity to bring home free fresh fruits and vegetables throughout the 2026-27 school year through the Brighter Bites program.

Brighter Bites provides participating families with bags of fresh produce at no cost. According to information distributed by Seagoville Elementary, produce will be available on a first-come, first-served basis during scheduled distribution days.

The first fall distribution is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the front entrance of Seagoville Elementary, 304 N. Kaufman St.

Families who are not already participating can enroll in Brighter Bites online.

2026 Fall Distribution Dates

All scheduled pickup times are from 3 to 4 p.m.

  • September 8 and 22
  • October 6 and 20
  • November 17
  • December 8

2027 Spring Distribution Dates

  • January 12 and 26
  • February 9 and 23
  • March 9 and 30
  • April 13 and 27

Brighter Bites focuses on getting fresh produce directly into the hands of children and families. The organization says its typical produce distributions can provide families with approximately 20 pounds of fruits and vegetables, or roughly 50 servings, along with resources designed to encourage healthy eating at home.

For Seagoville Elementary families, the program can help stretch the household grocery budget while making fresh fruits and vegetables more accessible throughout the school year.

Participation in Brighter Bites does not affect SNAP or WIC benefits, according to the school’s distribution information.

Families interested in receiving produce are encouraged to enroll ahead of upcoming distributions and arrive during the designated pickup period.
