2026 Preseason All District 5-5A Division II Offense

District 5-5A Division II enters the 2026 season with a mix of established stars, returning all district performers, and young players who already made an impact before realignment reshaped the league.

South Oak Cliff remains the district favorite, but the defending state champions do not monopolize the preseason offense.

Mesquite Poteet brings two proven receivers into the district, Samuell returns several experienced offensive pieces, Wilson has an established running back, and Seagoville brings back three players who earned first team all-district recognition last season.

The Shop in Seagoville Preseason All District Team is an editorial projection based on 2025 all district recognition, returning production, experience, and expected roles in 2026.

Poteet players were evaluated using their honors and production from the Pirates’ previous district.

Preseason Offensive Player of the Year: Jayden Williams, South Oak Cliff

Williams enters 2026 as the clear choice at the position.

The senior quarterback was named the District 5-5A Division II Offensive MVP last season while directing South Oak Cliff’s state championship offense, throwing for more than 2,700 yards with 28 touchdown passes and only two interceptions.

South Oak Cliff lost several prominent offensive players to graduation, which should make Williams even more important this fall, giving the Golden Bears something few teams possess entering August: an established championship quarterback.

First Team Offense

Quarterback

Jayden Williams, South Oak Cliff, Senior

Williams was not simply an effective starter last season. He was voted the district’s Offensive MVP and helped South Oak Cliff finish another championship run.

Wilson’s Reid Kirkland and Poteet’s Isaiah Hall both return with starting experience, giving the district more quarterback depth than the first team selection alone suggests.

Seagoville enters the season with an unsettled quarterback picture that remains one of the Dragons’ biggest preseason questions.

Running Backs

Eithan Ramirez, Wilson, Senior

Ramirez earned second team all district recognition last season and returns as the Wildcats’ most established offensive weapon.

He rushed for 563 yards and seven touchdowns on 99 carries, and that combination of experience and proven production gives Wilson a dependable starting point on offense.

Kollin Williams, Seagoville, Senior

Williams earned first team all district recognition at quarterback last season, but his versatility makes the athlete and running back position the best fit for this preseason team.

He was one of Seagoville’s most explosive runners in 2025 while also contributing extensively in the passing game, and with leading rusher Kelveion Gates now gone, Williams figures to become an even more important part of how Seagoville creates offense.

Rickey Wilkins and Devionte Smith give the Dragons additional options in the backfield, meaning Williams should not have to carry the rushing attack alone.

Wide Receivers

Kyler Cornelious, Mesquite Poteet, Junior

Cornelious may be one of the most important newcomers to District 5. He caught 21 passes for 351 yards and five touchdowns last season, and enters the season as only a junior.

Jaiden Wines, Mesquite Poteet, Junior

Wines gives Poteet another proven receiving threat. He earned first team all district recognition in Poteet’s previous district after catching 16 passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns.

Having Cornelious and Wines together should make the Poteet passing game one of the more difficult matchups Seagoville will face.

Gregory Stewart, Samuell, Senior

Stewart earned second team all district recognition last season and returns as a senior. Samuell finished ahead of Seagoville in several preseason projections, and returning skill position experience is one reason the Spartans are receiving that respect.

Tight End

Jayln Beauchamp, Seagoville, Senior

Beauchamp earned first team all-district honors at tight end last season. His receiving statistics were modest, but tight end play involves considerably more than catches.

An experienced blocker and two way contributor, the versatile standout gives ther Dragons an established senior at a position where the Dragons should be able to use multiple formations.

Offensive Line

Brian Swanson, South Oak Cliff, Senior

Swanson was a first team all district lineman as a junior and returns as one of the anchors of the South Oak Cliff offensive front.

At 6 feet 6, he gives the defending champions an experienced tackle in front of Williams and should be one of the district’s top offensive linemen.

Zion Ragster, South Oak Cliff, Senior

Ragster joins Swanson as another returning first team all district lineman. South Oak Cliff lost several accomplished offensive players, but returning two first team linemen alongside the district’s reigning Offensive MVP gives the Golden Bears an outstanding foundation to rebuild around.

Josiah Royal, Seagoville, Senior

Royal was Seagoville’s first team all-district offensive lineman last season and returns for his senior year. At 6 feet 3 and roughly 270 pounds, he gives the Dragons size and varsity experience up front.

Josha Sternes, Samuell, Senior

Sternes earned second team all district recognition last season and is part of an experienced Samuell offensive front.

The Spartans’ returning line talent could become especially important as they try to establish themselves among the district’s playoff contenders.

Isaiah Cook, Samuell, Senior

Cook was another Samuell lineman who received second team all-district recognition in 2025.

Having Sternes and Cook back gives the Spartans two established pieces in the trenches and helps explain why Samuell deserves multiple representatives on the preseason offense.

Seagoville’s Three First Team Selections

Three Dragons make the preseason first team: Williams, Beauchamp, and Royal.

The reason those three stand apart from Seagoville’s other returning offensive players is straightforward, since all three were first team all-district selections a year ago.

James Roberts, Rickey Wilkins, and Davien Rucker were second team selections last season, and remain strong candidates for postseason recognition.

Roberts returns as Seagoville’s most accomplished receiver, Wilkins adds another productive option in the backfield, and Rucker gives the Dragons additional offensive line experience.

Preseason honors should reflect what players around the entire district have already accomplished rather than simply how important they are to one team, and that distinction matters even more now that realignment has added Poteet.

Cornelious and Wines arrive with credentials that immediately place them among the district’s top returning receivers.

A District With Considerable Offensive Talent

South Oak Cliff still has the most important returning player in Williams and two proven first team linemen protecting him.

Poteet may have the district’s best returning receiver combination, Samuell possesses experienced players at receiver and along the offensive line, and Wilson brings back Ramirez and Kirkland.

Seagoville has enough established talent at running back, tight end, and offensive line to remain dangerous, but the biggest question for the Dragons is what happens at quarterback.

If Seagoville finds a reliable answer there, the pieces surrounding that player are considerably more experienced than a typical rebuilding offense would have. T

hat gives the Dragons a chance to outperform preseason projections, though unlike last season, they will have to do it in a district that has grown deeper with the arrival of Poteet.
