The Greater Crandall Chamber of Commerce is preparing for its first Cotton Classic Clay Shoot Tournament, a sporting-clays fundraiser scheduled for Friday, Sept. 18, at Texas Gun Ranch in Terrell.
Promoted under the theme “Shoot for Scholarships,” the event will combine competition, food, raffles and business sponsorships while supporting the Chamber’s scholarship efforts. The tournament will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Texas Gun Ranch, 15950 State Highway 205.
The morning will begin with registration and breakfast from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Shooters will take to the course at 8:45 a.m., with competition continuing until approximately 11:30 a.m. Lunch and raffles are scheduled from noon to 1:30 p.m., followed by an awards presentation from 1:30 to 2 p.m.
Registration and Competition
Individual registration is $200, while a four-person team can register for $700. Registration includes 12-gauge ammunition and foam ear plugs.
Participants are asked to bring their own shotgun. Gun rentals will be available through Texas Gun Ranch for shooters who need equipment.
The tournament will feature individual and team competition, with awards presented to top shooters. Organizers are also planning goodie bags, gun raffles, food and refreshments during the event.
Texas Gun Ranch is an established shooting-sports facility that includes sporting-clays courses along with rifle, pistol and other shooting ranges. Its sporting-clays operation includes multiple courses and covered shooting stations.
Business Sponsorships Available
The Chamber is offering several sponsorship levels for businesses and organizations interested in supporting the fundraiser.
The $1,350 Platinum Sponsorship includes four shooters, a shooting-station sponsorship, signage, banner recognition and a social media spotlight. A $1,150 Gold Sponsorship also includes four shooters, a shooting station, signage and social media recognition.
The $850 Silver Sponsorship includes four shooters along with signage and social media recognition.
Additional opportunities include a $500 Clubhouse Sponsorship with signage at registration, a $300 Golf Cart Sponsorship with a business logo displayed on carts and a $300 Station Sponsorship featuring signage at a shooting station.
The Cotton Classic adds a new fundraising event to the Chamber’s community calendar while providing local businesses with another opportunity to support scholarship programs and connect with participants from Crandall and surrounding communities.
