The Seagoville Police Department will bring residents, first responders and community leaders together for National Night Out on Tuesday, October 6, at Bruce Central Park.
The free community event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bruce Central Park, 1801 US-175 Frontage Road in Seagoville.
National Night Out is designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement, first responders and the residents they serve while giving families an opportunity to enjoy an evening of activities and community interaction.
Emergency Vehicles and First Responders
One of the highlights of the evening will be the opportunity to see emergency response equipment up close.
Police vehicles and fire apparatus will be displayed during the event, while organizers are also planning a medical helicopter appearance. The displays will give children and families a closer look at some of the equipment used by emergency personnel throughout the community.
Residents will also have an opportunity to meet members of Seagoville’s public safety departments in a relaxed environment away from emergency situations.
Family Activities Planned
National Night Out will include several activities geared toward children and families.
Plans include bounce houses, pumpkin painting, games and other activities throughout the evening. Food will also be available as families spend time visiting the different attractions and community participants.
A drone demonstration is among the activities scheduled for the event.
Meet Local Leaders and Businesses
In addition to public safety personnel, residents will have opportunities to interact with local businesses and city leaders.
City council members and Seagoville Mayor will be among the community representatives expected to participate, giving residents another opportunity to meet the people involved in local government and community organizations.
The event is intended to create an informal setting where residents can ask questions, make connections and become more familiar with the organizations serving Seagoville.
Building Stronger Community Relationships
National Night Out is held in communities across the country as an effort to promote cooperation between neighborhoods and law enforcement.
For the Seagoville Police Department, the annual gathering provides an opportunity to continue developing positive relationships with residents while encouraging greater communication and community involvement.
