Parents and caregivers are invited to attend a community education class focused on the dangers children may encounter after running away from home.
The “Dangers of Running Away” class will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the Inspired Vision Compassion Center, located at 2019 N. Masters Drive in Dallas.
The program is designed to help families better understand why children may leave home, the serious risks they can face and the steps parents can take to prevent a runaway situation or help bring a child home safely.
Topics scheduled for discussion include common reasons children run away, potential dangers on the streets and practical ways parents can respond when a child is struggling. The class will also provide information and resources intended to help families recognize warning signs and create safer, more supportive home environments.
Children who leave home may become vulnerable to exploitation, violence, homelessness and other dangerous circumstances. Organizers hope the class will encourage parents to begin important conversations with their children before a crisis develops.
The event is being presented by Alfonso Solis with SendMeDFW, an organization dedicated to locating missing children and supporting affected families.
Community members interested in supporting the organization’s mission may also learn about volunteer and donation opportunities during the program. SendMeDFW states that donations are used to assist its efforts to locate and support missing children.
