With the new school year approaching, families across Seagoville, Crandall and Combine may be reviewing daycare, preschool and before- or after-school care arrangements.

The timing is especially important this year. Dallas Independent School District’s traditional-calendar campuses will begin classes Aug. 11, 2026, while Crandall Independent School District will welcome students back Aug. 13.

A review of current child care information identified eight regulated operations located in Seagoville and 10 in Crandall. A directory drawing from Texas Health and Human Services data did not identify a regulated provider located within Combine’s city limits, although it listed 43 providers within 10 miles of the community.

The listings include larger child care centers, school-based after-school programs and smaller home-based operations. The capacity figures represent the maximum number of children associated with each permit—not the number of spaces currently available.

Seagoville Child Care Options

Kids Place Learning Center

Kids Place Learning Center is located at 1510 N. Highway 175. State-derived records list the center with a capacity of 73 children and a full permit serving toddlers, prekindergarten children and school-age students. The listed telephone number is 972-287-5437.

Kids Place is also identified by Dallas ISD as a private child care Pre-K partnership center. The district’s provider page lists operating hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and says the center offers educational programming, breakfast, lunch and snacks, special-education services, community events and family-engagement activities.

Cornerstone Learning Center 3

Cornerstone Learning Center 3 is located at 406 Cypress Street. The center has a listed capacity of 93 and serves infants, toddlers, prekindergarten children and school-age students under a full permit. Its telephone number is 214-506-4025.

A provider listing updated in June 2026 reports weekday hours of 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., programs for children from six weeks through age 12, and before- and after-school care. The listing also identifies transportation and field trips among its available services. Families should confirm that those services are available for their child’s school and age group.

Home-Based Providers

Six regulated home-based child care operations were also listed within Seagoville:

Happy Pants Academy, 204 Avenue B, is listed with a capacity of 12 and a full permit. The provider serves infants, toddlers, prekindergarten children and school-age children. The listed telephone number is 972-567-0450.

Renee Wilson, 1722 Woodhaven Drive, is a registered home with a capacity of 12. The operation is listed for infants through school-age children. The telephone number is 214-486-0395.

Lakesha Lawrence, 2900 Dunnbrook Court, is a registered home with a capacity of 12 serving infants, toddlers, prekindergarten children and school-age children. The listed telephone number is 469-969-9206.

Asha Roba, 2507 Stonegate Drive, is a registered home with a capacity of nine serving infants, toddlers and prekindergarten children. The listed telephone number is 469-618-4058.

Katrina Haynes, 1430 Julie Street, is identified as a listed home with a capacity of three serving infants through school-age children. The listed telephone number is 214-603-5759.

Virgil Harper, 2815 Marotto Way, is identified as a listed home with a capacity of three serving toddlers, prekindergarten children and school-age children. The listed telephone number is 469-321-9558.

Crandall Child Care Options

Dunkin Academy of Crandall

Dunkin Academy of Crandall is located at 1001 E. U.S. Highway 175. State-derived records list a capacity of 208 children and a full permit serving infants, toddlers, prekindergarten children and school-age students. The listed telephone number is 972-427-6588.

The academy’s website says it provides infant care, preschool and prekindergarten programs, educational after-school care for elementary students and themed summer camps. Its curriculum is aligned with the Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines.

The Harmony Playhouse II

The Harmony Playhouse II is located at 615 N. Main Street. The center is listed with an initial permit and a capacity of 46 children. Its listed age categories include infants, toddlers, prekindergarten children and school-age students. The telephone number is 972-961-6365.

Because the operation is identified with an initial permit, parents should review its current permit and inspection information through the Texas child care search before enrollment.

AlphaBEST School-Based Programs

Crandall ISD has partnered with AlphaBEST to provide extended-day and after-school enrichment for students in prekindergarten through sixth grade.

Two Crandall locations appear in the state-derived directory:

AlphaBEST at Wilson, 300 Meadowcreek Drive, is listed as a full-permit center with a capacity of 50 serving prekindergarten and school-age students.

AlphaBEST at Noble-Reed, 2001 Wildcat Trail, is listed as a full-permit center with a capacity of 60 serving prekindergarten and school-age students.

Both locations list 866-300-7750 as the contact number.

Parents should confirm campus eligibility, enrollment deadlines, program hours and whether care is available on teacher workdays or school holidays.

Home-Based Providers

Crandall’s regulated home-based options include:

Children of the Future Learning Center, 3735 Pronghorn Lane, is listed with a full permit and a capacity of 12 serving prekindergarten and school-age children. The telephone number is 469-447-8048.

A separate provider profile identifies it as a home daycare offering full- and part-time care, meals, snacks and curriculum-based activities. Parents should contact the provider to confirm current hours, rates and openings.

Nessas Heavenly Preschool and Daycare, 2247 Marcy Crossing, is listed with a full permit and a capacity of 12 serving toddlers, prekindergarten children and school-age children. The telephone number is 909-562-6206.

Mila Hryshyna, 3149 Helix Bay Drive, is a registered home with a capacity of 12 serving infants through school-age children. The telephone number is 470-883-9992.

Pam’s Joyful Journeys Daycare, 3208 Blossom Trail, is listed with an initial permit and a capacity of 12 serving infants through school-age children. The telephone number is 469-888-2783.

LaChester Duncan, 3160 Beechwood Drive, is a registered home with a capacity of 12 serving infants through school-age children. The telephone number is 469-733-6866.

Jazmine Hunt, 2504 Russell Street, is identified as a listed home with a capacity of three serving infants through school-age children. The telephone number is 214-543-3101.

Families in Combine May Need to Look Nearby

The child care directory reviewed for this article did not display an operation located within Combine itself. It identified 43 regulated providers within a 10-mile radius, including options in Seagoville and Crandall.

For Combine families, travel time may therefore be an important part of the decision. Parents should ask whether a provider offers transportation, which schools it serves and whether pickup or drop-off schedules are compatible with their child’s campus.

Transportation should never be assumed simply because a provider accepts school-age children.

What Parents Should Verify Before Enrolling

Texas Health and Human Services encourages families to select regulated child care and review a provider’s licensing and compliance information. Regulated providers must meet state minimum standards, and staff are subject to background-check requirements. Inspection reports are available online through the state’s child care search system.

Parents can also use the Texas Child Care Availability Portal to search by ZIP code or address. The portal can display reported openings by age, Texas Rising Star certification and links to state health and safety inspection histories.

Before paying a registration fee or signing an agreement, families should confirm:

Current openings for the child’s specific age

Weekly or monthly tuition and all additional fees

Daily opening and closing times

Before- and after-school transportation

Meals and snacks

Holiday and school-break schedules

Staff-to-child ratios

Illness, medication and discipline policies

Procedures for parent communication and emergencies

The provider’s current permit and inspection history

Families should tour the operation when possible, observe how caregivers interact with children and ask to review written enrollment policies. Federal child care guidance also recommends examining whether classrooms or home-care spaces are clean, organized and arranged so caregivers can properly supervise children.

Availability, tuition, staffing, transportation routes and operating hours can change. Parents should contact each provider directly and review the latest state record before making a final decision.
