<div class="sig-headline">Seagoville Sales Tax Revenue Climbs to $4.6 Million Through August 2026</div>

<p class="sig-p">Seagoville is bringing in more sales tax revenue in 2026 than it did during the same period in either of the past two years. The full picture, though, is more nuanced than a simple headline of business booming.</p>
<p class="sig-p">Through the August 2026 allocation, the City of Seagoville has received $4,602,001.28 in local sales tax payments, according to Texas Comptroller records. That is an increase of nearly $280,000, or 6.47 percent, compared with the $4,322,129.98 the city received through the same point in 2025.</p>
<p class="sig-p">Go back another year, and the pace of growth was actually stronger. During the first eight allocation months of 2024, Seagoville received approximately $3,953,522, a figure independently confirmed against the city&#8217;s own municipal monthly reports.</p><div class="shopi-after-3rd-paragraph shopi-entity-placement" id="shopi-2175670692"><div id="shopi-254659913" style="margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/loshermanosmex" aria-label="los-hermanos-ad"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/los-hermanos-ad.jpg" alt=""  srcset="https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/los-hermanos-ad.jpg 1200w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/los-hermanos-ad-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/los-hermanos-ad-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/los-hermanos-ad-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/los-hermanos-ad-840x420.jpg 840w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/los-hermanos-ad-150x75.jpg 150w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/los-hermanos-ad-600x300.jpg 600w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/los-hermanos-ad-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/los-hermanos-ad-1068x534.jpg 1068w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" width="1200" height="600"  style="display: inline-block;" /></a></div></div>

<div class="sig-h2">Three Years of Growth</div>
<p class="sig-p">The January through August numbers show a clear, if gradually cooling, upward trend for the city&#8217;s largest source of recurring revenue outside property taxes.</p>

<p class="sig-p">Over the full two year span, Seagoville&#8217;s eight month sales tax allocation has grown by approximately $648,479, or about 16.4 percent, from 2024 to 2026. That is meaningful growth for a recurring municipal revenue source.</p>
<div class="sig-h2">August Was a Big Month</div>
<p class="sig-p">Seagoville&#8217;s August 2026 allocation totaled $655,286.20, compared with $565,594.07 in August 2025. That is a 15.85 percent increase in one year.</p>
<p class="sig-p">The comparison becomes even more striking with 2024 added to the picture. Seagoville&#8217;s August 2024 allocation was approximately $565,556, meaning the payment was essentially flat for two straight years before this year&#8217;s sharp jump.</p><div class="shopi-after-7th-paragraph shopi-entity-placement" id="shopi-687036161"><div id="shopi-2187987504" style="margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.laketenison.com" aria-label="private-lake-tenison-new"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/private-lake-tenison-new.jpg" alt=""  srcset="https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/private-lake-tenison-new.jpg 1200w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/private-lake-tenison-new-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/private-lake-tenison-new-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/private-lake-tenison-new-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/private-lake-tenison-new-840x420.jpg 840w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/private-lake-tenison-new-150x75.jpg 150w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/private-lake-tenison-new-600x300.jpg 600w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/private-lake-tenison-new-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/private-lake-tenison-new-1068x534.jpg 1068w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" width="1200" height="600"  style="display: inline-block;" /></a></div></div>

<p class="sig-p">The latest increase also slightly outpaced the statewide trend. Texas cities collectively received $920.9 million in August 2026 allocations, an increase of 14.4 percent from August 2025.</p>
<p class="sig-p">Seagoville&#8217;s 15.85 percent increase was therefore about 1.5 percentage points higher than the statewide city average. For the year to date, Texas city allocations were running 6 percent ahead of 2025, and Seagoville&#8217;s own 6.47 percent increase was also slightly above that statewide pace.</p>
<div class="sig-callout">
<p>Seagoville is outpacing the statewide city average on both the August payment and the year to date total.</p>
</div>
<div class="sig-h2">August Revenue Does Not Represent August Sales</div>
<div class="sig-info-box">
<p><strong>Important context:</strong> There is a built in delay between when a sale happens and when the tax revenue arrives.</p>
<p>The Comptroller distributed the August 2026 allocation on August 14, but the payment mostly reflects sales made earlier in the year. For monthly filers, the August distribution generally reflects June sales, and because it also covers the second quarter reporting period, it includes April through June activity from businesses that file quarterly.</p>
<p>That means the August figures should not be read as a measurement of what happened inside Seagoville businesses during August itself. The September allocation will primarily reflect July activity, while October will largely reflect August activity.</p>
</div>
<div class="sig-h2">What Does It Say About Seagoville&#8217;s Economy?</div>
<p class="sig-p">Sales tax allocations are one of the better publicly available indicators of local commercial activity. They are not, however, a perfect measurement of retail sales.</p>
<p class="sig-p">The Comptroller notes that allocation payments can include current period collections, prior period collections, audit adjustments and other accounting components. Timing differences can make individual months unusually high or low.</p><div class="shopi-after-9-paragraphs shopi-entity-placement" id="shopi-2217036560"><div id="shopi-2981983202" style="margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/diamante.insurance" aria-label="diamante-insurance-ad"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" src="https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/diamante-insurance-ad.jpg" alt=""  srcset="https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/diamante-insurance-ad.jpg 1200w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/diamante-insurance-ad-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/diamante-insurance-ad-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/diamante-insurance-ad-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/diamante-insurance-ad-840x420.jpg 840w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/diamante-insurance-ad-150x75.jpg 150w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/diamante-insurance-ad-600x300.jpg 600w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/diamante-insurance-ad-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/diamante-insurance-ad-1068x534.jpg 1068w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" width="1200" height="600"  style="display: inline-block;" /></a></div></div>
<p class="sig-p">Online purchases delivered to Seagoville residents can also generate local sales tax revenue. That means rising allocations do not necessarily mean every additional dollar was spent inside a Seagoville storefront.</p>
<p class="sig-p">For that reason, the longer term trend matters more than any single monthly payment, and that trend remains positive. Seagoville collected about $3.95 million through August 2024, $4.32 million through August 2025 and $4.60 million through August 2026.</p>
<p class="sig-p">There is no evidence in those totals that the city&#8217;s overall taxable economic base is contracting. The better description is continued growth at a somewhat slower year to date rate.</p>
<p class="sig-p">The 9.3 percent increase recorded during the first eight months of 2025 has moderated to 6.47 percent this year. At the same time, August&#8217;s 15.85 percent increase offers an important counterpoint.</p><div class="shopi-after-12th-paragraph shopi-entity-placement" id="shopi-3643165006"><div id="shopi-3054082254" style="margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100095303373653" aria-label="palacios-salon-ad"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/palacios-salon-ad.jpg" alt=""  srcset="https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/palacios-salon-ad.jpg 1200w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/palacios-salon-ad-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/palacios-salon-ad-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/palacios-salon-ad-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/palacios-salon-ad-840x420.jpg 840w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/palacios-salon-ad-150x75.jpg 150w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/palacios-salon-ad-600x300.jpg 600w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/palacios-salon-ad-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/palacios-salon-ad-1068x534.jpg 1068w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" width="1200" height="600"  style="display: inline-block;" /></a></div></div>
<p class="sig-p">If similarly strong increases continue through the fall, 2026 could finish considerably stronger than the first seven months of the year suggested.</p>
<div class="sig-h2">Why Sales Tax Matters to Seagoville</div>
<p class="sig-p">Seagoville imposes a 2 percent local sales and use tax, bringing the combined state and local rate to the maximum 8.25 percent.</p>
<p class="sig-p">The figures reported by the Comptroller represent the city&#8217;s full local sales tax allocation, not the entire 8.25 percent collected on taxable transactions. The state portion goes to Texas, while Seagoville&#8217;s local portion is distributed among municipal purposes, with the General Fund receiving half of the total local allocation.</p>
<p class="sig-p">For city finances, continued growth matters because sales taxes provide revenue without requiring a corresponding increase in property tax collections.</p>
<p class="sig-p">For residents, the numbers provide a regularly updated data point showing whether the city&#8217;s taxable economic activity is expanding or shrinking. Right now, the answer is fairly clear.</p><div class="shopi-after-25-paragraph shopi-entity-placement" id="shopi-2171645208"><div id="shopi-2510286482" style="margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;text-align: center;"><a href="https://www.woodforest.com/" aria-label="woodforest-bank-ad"><img decoding="async" src="https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/woodforest-bank-ad.jpg" alt=""  srcset="https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/woodforest-bank-ad.jpg 1200w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/woodforest-bank-ad-300x150.jpg 300w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/woodforest-bank-ad-1024x512.jpg 1024w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/woodforest-bank-ad-768x384.jpg 768w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/woodforest-bank-ad-840x420.jpg 840w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/woodforest-bank-ad-150x75.jpg 150w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/woodforest-bank-ad-600x300.jpg 600w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/woodforest-bank-ad-696x348.jpg 696w, https://www.shopinseagoville.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/woodforest-bank-ad-1068x534.jpg 1068w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" width="1200" height="600"  style="display: inline-block;" /></a></div></div>
<div class="sig-callout">
<p>Seagoville is still growing.</p>
</div>
<p class="sig-p">The city has received nearly $650,000 more through August than it did during the same eight month period just two years ago. Growth has slowed from the unusually strong 2025 pace, but it has not stopped, and the latest monthly allocation actually accelerated sharply.</p>
<p class="sig-p">The next several Comptroller distributions will show whether August was an isolated surge or the beginning of a stronger second half of 2026.</p>
