RightFiber, a brand of Ritter Communications, is continuing construction on a major fiber-optic expansion into Seagoville.
The company first announced the project on February 23, according to RightFiber. It pledged more than 50 million dollars to bring a 100 percent fiber-optic network across North Texas.
Seagoville was named the first community in the region to see construction activity, according to RightFiber.
The network will offer residential speeds of up to 5 gigabits per second and business connections of up to 100 gigabits per second, according to the company.
RightFiber CEO Heath Simpson said the expansion is part of a broader growth strategy that has already brought the brand into Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Kentucky.
The company said it will notify residents ahead of construction near their homes through signage, mailers, door hangers, and in-person teams. Any property affected during installation will be restored, according to RightFiber.
A full timeline for the broader North Texas build has not been announced, and no additional communities beyond Seagoville have been named.
